I've been an amatuer photographer, like the rest of us, for many years and lately I've been using it as an outlet to express how I see the world in my own quirky way. The last 8 years I've been employed as a social worker and have been hanging my photos in my office; fellow workers come in and have said to me "where did you buy that photo?". To their surprise, it was one of my pieces. That gave me a boost of confidence enough to try to make is as an artist and I gave myself two years to "make" it.
Recently I've had my first showing at the West End Community Centre art sale on Mother's Day weekend, and have had great response to my work. This has given me another boost in my confidence. I've met some other great artists, networked till I dropped, and had a great time. I thought this is where I belong, the arts field, they're kooky just like me!
I look forward to growing and exploring my talents as an artist and have so many ideas brewing in my head that only my imagination is the limit to where I'm going—let me tell you, I've got one wild imagination.
So sit back, enjoy the view, and enjoy the ride... cause I am.
